Internet content

As national features editor for an Internet news service*, I designed and updated a content section devoted to technology.

• In addition to posting news stories, I recruited columnists and edited and posted their work in these categories (click for examples): Web Site of the Week, The Help! Menu, Tech Tomorrow (trends), Daily Download, Who's Online, Computer Game Parade , Tech Views.

• I periodically anchored coverage of breaking news such as computer virus outbreaks, high-profile hacker attacks, and court developments involving Microsoft and Napster.

Magazine writing

As a magazine writer in Cairo*, I wrote articles about software exports, foreign investment and chat-room privacy, as well as a monthly column on e-commerce in the petroleum industry.

Consulting

As a communications consultant in Egypt*, I wrote, edited and did layout for several pieces of marketing material and a video script for the Egyptian software company IT Worx in 2002. Click for an example.

International development

As a public outreach specialist at USAID/Egypt*, I wrote about the agency's efforts to increase the availability and use of computers in schools and throughout Egyptian society
