June 1999 to August 2001

Producing online content to expand upon breaking news

•National convergence editor, November 2000 to August 2001, for Internet Broadcasting Systems, which operates web sites for television stations in North America. Planned and oversaw daily "convergence journalism" packages -- online content to complement news stories covered by the TV stations. Chose topics, led brainstorming on content and design, did research and coding for some packages, coordinated five employees who produced other packages. Wrote scripts for newscasters. Communicated with 40 web-site managers on past and upcoming packages.

•National features editor, June 1999 to November 2000. Designed and maintained the editorial content of three feature sections -- Technology, Health and Money -- used by all 40 web sites affiliated with the company. Oversaw the launch of these sections while company was successfully pursuing contracts to operate web sites for station chains owned by Hearst-Argyle, Post-Newsweek and CanWest Global (Canada).

Traveled on assignment during coverage of the 2000 presidential election, reporting from the Democratic and Republican national conventions in August 2000 and the ballot recounts in Palm Beach County in November 2000. Authored online news articles, columns and photo essays, assembled online content packages, appeared on-air during newcasts for WPBF-TV, Palm Beach, Fla.
