Speeches: As public outreach specialist for USAID/Egypt, I drafted speeches and talking points for use by the organization director and the U.S. Ambassador to Cairo. Press releases: As public outreach specialist for USAID/Egypt, I researched, drafted and formatted press releases for distribution to the media regarding USAID events and announcements. I posted reformatted versions to the web site and distributed them to the organization's e-mail newsletter subscriber list. Examples:

Fact sheets: In addition to timely, event-based press releases, as public outreach specialist for USAID/Egypt I researched, drafted and formatted fact sheets for continual use in explaining the organization's ongoing programs. Examples:
Young men in their own words on the benefits of the New Visions program (With quotes, photographs, data)
• U.S. support to the telecommunications sector in Egypt (Microsoft Word document)
• The Information Technology or "I.T. in Schools" project
• Questions and answers about United States support for loans to very small businesses in Egypt
• Projects leave Egypt with stronger patent, trademark system

Brochures: As a communications specialist, I deepened my experience in producing brochures and pamphlets from conception to the print-ready stage including research, layout, and coordinating with printing houses.

• As a consultant for USAID contractor ALEB (Agriculture-Led Export Businesses) from November 2002 to February 2003, I produced a print and electronic version of the "Investors' Guide to Doing Business with the Egyptian Food-Processing Industry." I designed, researched, wrote, laid out and delivered in electronic format both versions: eight-page brochure and expanded online version. To view the printed version,

• I wrote and designed a brochure for the Egyptian Volunteer Center as that NGO prepared to open its new building in June 2002. I submitted the basic layout to the organization, which did final layout and printing in-house.

• I wrote, edited, did layout for several pieces of marketing material and a video script for the Egyptian software company IT Worx in 2002. One of the projects was a brochure explaining a product that increases the speed of computer networks, "Net Optimizer." I did the writing, editing and basic layout and design including two rounds of revisions; the company did final design and printing in-house.
